District Bowls Association night pennant competitions continue under the lights
on Monday and Tuesday nights.
Super Challenge begins with men's and women's teams. The men play Singles, two
Pairs, 2-bowl Triples and Fours and the ladies play Singles, Pairs and Fours.
The men's team reached the first round of finals, defeating Coolum Beach and
Greenslopes, but losing to Cementco.
Night Bowls Come and enjoy a
social game under the lights in the cool of the evening.
Social night bowls will continue on
Wednesday nights as open triples. Dress is mufti.
Friday nights are Learn to Bowlnights when new
bowlers are invited to come and try their hand. Flat soled shoes are required.
Men's A.G.M.
Sunday 25 February, 9 a.m. Come and
have a say in the selection of the new committee or, better still, have a say in
the management of the Club by standing for the committee.
June Dioth Memorial Wednesday 7 March, 9 a.m. A morning of
mixed fours followed by lunch in memory of June Dioth, Ladies' President in
their Golden Jubilee Year and multiple Club Champion, wife of Charlie.
Irish Night
A three course meal with Irish entertainment and dancing at 6 p.m. on Friday 9
March. Door prizes, raffles, best Irish costume, best Irish joke. Don the green
and make up a party. $17.50 per head. Seats are limited, so book early.
Visiting Club Friday 25 May. A mixed group came from
the Real Estate Institutes of Queensland and New South Wales. The ladies played
a social game against the Buderim Ladies, while the men recruited a few Buderim
men to play in their State of origin series final.
Enstil Invitation Fours All
day Saturday and Sunday 26-27 May. Annual
men's fours tournament sponsored by Enstil Financial Services with prizemoney of
$5,500. Twenty four teams from around the district entered. Winners were P.
Carmody, L. Simpson, T. Quinn and F. Diamond from Coolum. Second place went to
S. Haldane, G. Lynch, P. Worth and J. Horne from Mooloolaba. Third placegetters
were P. Keats, G. Dale, G. Cooper and G. Brown.
Ladies' Seafood Day Wednesday 30 May. Mixed fours with a
seafood lunch.
Lady President's Day
Morning bowls followed by a
delicious social lunch.

Christmas in July
Friday 20 July 6:00 p.m. The social highlight of the winter! A
three course meal, entertainment, dancing and the festive spirit, all for $
17.50. Great entertainment by the TE Showband and singers kept everyone singing,
laughing and dancing the night away.
Ladies Fiesta
A successful all-day bowling
celebration with visitors from other clubs.
Corporate Challenge
Teams from local businesses playing open fours, followed by a barbeque and salad dinner. Another
great day of fun and competition.
State
of Origin Friday 28 September, 1 p.m. The annual battle of the Queensland
natives and newcomers. Will the rules be changed again to preserve the native
heritage?
Business Bowls A round-robin tournament amongst teams
from local businesses. Great for corporate team-building, not to mention all the
fun and friendships developed.
Mixed Charity Day
Wednesday 3 October.
An outstanding day of mixed triples and fours to
support local charities.
Barefoot Bowls The popular barefoot bowls begins again
for members of the community on Friday nights under lights from 6 p.m. and on
Sunday afternoons from 1 p.m. All that is needed is flat soled shoes and $4.
Bowls are supplied.
