District Bowls Association night pennant competitions continue under the lights
on Monday and Tuesday nights.
Super Challenge begins with men's and women's teams. The men play Singles, two
Pairs, 2-bowl Triples and Fours and the ladies play Pairs and Fours.
Open Day
Men, women and children with a wide
range of ages tried their hand at bowls in the first open day of 2006. Several
new players joined the Club as full members.
Night Bowls The front green now
has lights and is ready for night bowls. Come and enjoy a social game under the
lights in the cool of the evening.
Social night bowls will continue on
Wednesday nights as open triples. Dress is mufti.
Friday nights are Learn to Bowlnights when new
bowlers are invited to come and try their hand. Flat soled shoes are required.
Irish Night
A three course meal with Irish entertainment and dancing at 6 p.m. on Friday 11
March. Door prizes, raffles, best Irish costume, best limerick. Don the green
and make up a party. $17.50 per head. Seats are limited, so book early.
Men's A.G.M.
Sunday 19 March, 9 a.m. Come and have
a say in the selection of the new committee or, better still, have a say in the
management of the Club by standing for the committee.
Business Bowls A six-week series of matches played
between teams from local businesses under lights on Tuesday evenings.
Congratulations to Bunnings No. 3 team for their series win.
Skirts vs Shirts
Friday 7 April, 1-4p.m.
The annual challenge between the men and the
ladies. Reputations are at stake here! Always a great day.
Anzac Day Mixed Bowls
Tuesday 25 April, 1 p.m. Come and
enjoy a sociable game after the dawn service and Anzac Day Parade.
Showtime
Friday 28 April, 6:00 for 6:30
p.m.
Another dinner and entertainment extravaganza with entertainment by singer
Desmond Taylor and his showgirls. This is a song and dance show with a
difference! Three course dinner and entertainment for $17.50.
Corporate Bowls Challenge Sunday 30 April, 1 p.m. Teams of four
(or three plus a club member by request) from local businesses compete for
prestige and prizes in a very social atmosphere. Contact the club to enter a
team. Flat soled shoes are required. Bowls are supplied. All join in for a BBQ

visits for morning bowls with lunch for all players for a total cost of only $10
each.
Christmas in July
Friday 28 July. The social
highlight of the winter! A three course meal, entertainment, dancing and the festive spirit, all for $ 17.50. Another full house
for a delicious meal and an entertaining night with singer Solace and our
own Vice-President Mike Edwards. Santa greets members of the National
Seniors Association, who are becoming regulars.

President's Day
Tuesday 1 August. Ladies' President
June Dioth and Patroness Sylvia Robson welcomed Past Presidents and members for
a delightful game of bowls and afternoon tea.
Ladies 50-Year Celebration Tuesday 8 August. Morning bowls from
9:30-11:30, lunch at 12 noon followed by afternoon bowls until 3:30 p.m., all
for $10.
Men's Pennants Start Teams are entered in Divisions1, 3, 4, 5 and 6, beginning
on Saturday 12 August.
Ladies Fiesta
Tuesday 12 September. A successful all-day
bowling celebration with visitors from other clubs.
Corporate Challenge
Sunday 17 September. Teams from local
businesses filled both greens playing open fours, followed by a barbeque and
salad dinner. Another great day of fun and competition, won by the team from
Sunshine Coast Daily.

Geoff Leach presents the September 2006 winners' prize to the Sunshine Coast Daily team of
Rohan Molineux, Kate Davies and Ray Thomas.
Runners-up were the team from RealWay Property Consultants.
Visiting Club
On Sunday 24 September, in glorious weather
once again, we
enjoyed a visit from the Wynnum-Manly War
Veterans Bowls Club. They greatly appreciated the lunch and all enjoyed
the games.
Prime Trust Inter-Village
Lawn Bowls Challenge
A challenge at mixed triples between
the Prime Trust retirement villages of Buderim Gardens, Hibiscus Noosa Outlook,
Hibiscus Buderim Meadows, Hibiscus Chancellor Park and Hibiscus Nambour. A great
day of competition for the 99 players.
Business Bowls This year a 9-week round-robin
tournament amongst 10 teams from local businesses. Great for corporate
team-building, not to mention all the fun and friendships developed.
Mixed Charity Day
Wednesday 4 October, 1 p.m.. An outstanding day of mixed triples and fours to support local charities.
Barefoot Bowls The popular barefoot bowls begins again
for members of the community on Friday nights under lights from 6 p.m. and on
Sunday afternoons from 1 p.m. All that is needed is flat soled shoes and $4.
Bowls are supplied.

Night Bowls Open triples for nominated or

of night play in the hotter weather.
State
of Origin Friday 13 October. The annual battle of
the natives and newcomers. Will the rules be changed again to preserve the
native heritage? Who will be lucky on Friday 13th? Queensland were lucky again
with the assistance of some southern ring-ins.
